On Saturday, June 6th, from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., as part of the 4th Open Studios Art Tour, featuring 50 exhibiting artists throughout Altadena and Pasadena, Altadena Library District proudly announces its participation and welcomes featured artist, Valérie Daval.

As part of the Open Studios Tour Valérie will sketch live dancers in different successive sessions from 11am to 6pm with dancers from Altadena’s Community Dance Jam and from Contact Improv Dance (ARC Pasadena).
“Sketching movements is challenging because the sketch is a fast drawing, it all happens in an instant, the speed of execution is the integral part of the character of the sketch.” ~ Valérie Daval
Croquis [in Motion] will showcase various sketches with dancers and choreographers in both LA and in France plus live sketches created on the event day. Live dance performances occur throughout the day in successive sessions and will include both solo and group dances.
