“THE CHRISTMAS GIFT”
from gloriana casey
Though she was just a little girl,
the stories told to her
of Christmas time—- the 3 Wise men,
frankincense, gold, and myrrh.
A Christmas gift to celebrate,
just like that Drummer Boy.
What could she give her parents then?
They wouldn’t want a toy.
And in her piggy bank—not much;
Two quarters and a dime,
10 pennies and a nickel left
and Christmas Eve did chime.

Almost 20 years ago, we were looking for a creche — we never had one growing up, and felt that it was time to have one. Because we are also cheap, we finally found one in the after-Christmas sale at the Folk Tree Gallery in Pasadena for half off —

plus spy game’s big surprise!
A JANUARY meteor!
The Ural Mountains rocked!
470 kilotons;
for Nature can’t be mocked!
The happiest discoverer,
Huell Howser—- gone from Earth.
A man who found joy everywhere;
philosophy of mirth!
