As a long time supporter of PHS and as someone who has adopted dogs through them, I am excited to see what their new facility offers.

I am still curious, though, why Altadena isn’t part of their service area (when Monrovia now is).

All of the areas covered are incorporated cities who contract with PHS. Altadena is an unincorporated community that is serviced by Los Angeles County, which runs several shelters. The shelter which handles Altadena is in Baldwin Park, and pet licenses are obtained through the County.
