Town council candidate packets now available

Packets are now available for candidates for the Altadena Town Council.EIght seats will be up for election this year.

Candidates must be U.S. citizens, and Altadena residents who have resided in the census tract they hope to represent for at least two years.  Candidates must fill out a packet and submit their application with a check or money order for $35, made out to “Altadena Town Council,”  before close of business May 16, 2014.  Applications must be submitted to the Altadena Community Center, 730 E. Altadena Drive.

Other relevant dates are:

Candidate forum at the Altadena Town Council meeting, 7 PM May 20.
Election June 3 (early voting) and June 7 (times/locations to be announced)
New member swearing-in June 17 at the Altadena Town Council meeting, 7 PM.

There will also be a candidate forum sponsored by Neighbors Building a Better Altadena at the Community Center at 7 PM May 27.
