Poetry corner: code-bomber blues

“The Business of America
is Business!” —we’ve hear that!
But here in Altadena town,
It’s THOU SHALT NOT, in fact!~

The Code Bomber is back–Oh MY!
Small businesses will tremble,
For while they build their business up;
rules do dissemble!

Oh yes, there need to be some rules,
for playing field fair!
But rules should not a hammer make,
you drive us to despair.

For art and music fill the soul,
plus add some coin —-in truth.
Creatively, small business thrives
for growth starts at the root.

For all things do begin as small;
that suits this city true!
The future was enVISIONED, yes—
so smallness gets its due!

The record seems a battle ground
with COUNTY behemoth——
When small succeeds. then so do you,—
so why don’t you get this?

It’s—- AMY’S PATIO CAFE
that gets the grief, today
Musicians gather——-and they share
their local sounds ——HORRAY!

The Code BOMBER appeared and said,
some money must be due;
and too, where is that manager?
Poor Aime felt so blue!

Behold a benefactor came!
The money it was gained;
when Aime went to pay this off
the dream had been waylaid!

For 2-6 months it will take,
for County now to rule!
Justice denied, a dream deferred;
Oh County—you are cruel!

For county, truly—- please rethink—–
rules fly like confetti!
But when the business does comply;
you turn into the YETI!

For we all know that the YETI
with snowy coat is set
and lives within the whitest snow;
no one has seen him yet!

And that’s the trouble, Code Bomber,
with rope you lasso in——
but then you leave the business there,
a-twisting in the wind!

I went to County muni codes
and read of business then ,
but honestly, to fathom this;
is wiggle room a sin?

Now like the Fancy Food trucks here,
non-profit can sponsor?
Or educational counts too?
Add this to the hopper?

Can AMY’s add to it’s first name;
of PATIO CAFE,
to write in MUSIC COLLEGE then,
for educational sway?

I did read on and had some laughs
just who is writing this?

For entertainment–and their signs
the writing is quite clear:
none must ever show the crease of
human buttocks here!

O.K.— that’s funny and so true;
NO buttocks signs we seek.
The story of why this should be—-
imaginations peak! : )

SO– first of all, I do suggest
for small business rule,
please, County, work to aid SUCCESS;
and life for all—so cool!

is tale the Greeks thought up.
Like searching for the Minotaur—
then on your bones he’ll sup!

It’s not enough to say NO NO!
And then just walk away!
PROACTIVE with small business then,
all players win that way!
