Pasdena Senior Curriculum Series starts Sept. 30

The fall term of the popular Senior Curriculum Series is scheduled from 2 to 4 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays from Sept 30 to Nov. 20 at the Pasadena Senior Center, 85 E. Holly St. The two sessions will focus on understanding issues of the world today.
The U.S. Election of 2014, President Obama and a World in Crisis will be explored every Tuesday from Sept. 30 to Nov. 18 with experts from Occidental College, including professors of political science, politics and economics.

- Oct. 21 – The Economy and the Election
- Oct. 28 – The California Election
- Nov. 4 – Polls and the New Congress
- Nov. 11 – The Middle East After the U.S. Elections
- Nov. 18 – Wrapping It All Up
Critical Cultures: What We Don’t Know About the World will include discussions every Thursday from Oct. 2 to Nov. 20 led by experts from USC and Occidental College, including professors of history, diplomacy and world affairs.

- Oct. 9 – The Cherry Orchard: Russia Beyond Moscow
- Oct. 16 – The Caucasus: A Microcosm of the World
- Oct. 23 – Why Study Korea?
- Oct. 30 – The Arab World
- Nov. 6 – Mexico/L.A. Cultural Relations in the Early Twentieth Century
- Nov. 13 – Iran
Sign up for individual talks at $10 each, one curriculum session for $55 or both curriculum sessions for $100. A full year – fall, winter and spring terms – is $250.

Senior Curriculum is presented by the Pasadena Festival of Women Authors
Founded in 1959, the Pasadena Senior Center is an independent, nonprofit organization that offers recreational, educational, wellness and social services to people ages 50 and over in a friendly environment. Services are also provided for frail, low-income and homebound seniors.
