Will be traveling today, but we’ve picked up some odds and ends to share:
Wedding bells from the sandbox: Found this in the NY Times: Rebecca Alden Hummel of South Pasadena and Joseph Link Holliday were married May 31 at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Altadena by the Rev. Huston Horn. The couple met at a military base in Afghanistan. It’s in the Times (altho’ you may encounter the pay wall).
Takin’ care of business: Assemblyman Chris Holden is announcing his nominees for Business of the Year, and two of interest are Michael and Meredith Miller at Webster’s Community Pharmacy, and Perry Bennett at Perry’s Joint.
Voting: It’s a voting double-header today: primaries and some ballot measures — go to http://www.lavote.net/ to find your polling place. It’s also early voting for Altadena Town Council tonight at the Altadena Community Center, 730 E. Altadena Dr., from 4-7 PM. Check out our elections page (including a statement from the single candidate who responded to our request to provide one), and check out some video at the independent altadenaelection page. Regular voting will be Saturday, June 7.
