A resource fair Thursday, Oct. 9, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Pasadena Senior Center will focus on Medicare, the federal health insurance program for people who are 65 and older. People do not have to be members of the center to attend the event.

With the open enrollment period approaching on Oct. 15, seniors will receive information they need to make informed decisions about the medical and prescription plans that are best for them.

Health plan representatives will provide information and answer questions about Medicare plans and services.  At noon, when the resource fair has ended, a one-hour talk on Medicare program issues and upcoming changes for 2015 will be presented by the Health Insurance Counseling and Advocacy Program.

For more information call (626) 795-4331 or visit www.pasadenaseniorcenter.org. The Pasadena Senior Center is at 85 E. Holly St.

Founded in 1959, the Pasadena Senior Center is an independent, nonprofit organization that offers recreational, educational, wellness and social services to people ages 50 and over in a friendly environment. Services are also provided for frail, low-income and homebound seniors.
