Yes, nothing in this postcard is actually in Altadena.

Are you ready for an early summer? The National Weather Service is shouting that it’s only going to get warmer through the weekend:

AN UNSEASONABLY HOT AIR MASS WILL DEVELOP THIS WEEKEND AS A STRONG RIDGE OF HIGH PRESSURE ALOFT BUILDS INTO THE AREA. WHILE TEMPERATURES WILL BE COOL INTO WEDNESDAY AS A TROUGH OF LOW PRESSURE MOVES OVER THE AREA…A WARMING TREND WILL ESTABLISH FOR LATE WEEK. TEMPERATURES WELL ABOVE SEASONAL NORMAL VALUES WILL BE PREVALENT BY FRIDAY. BY THE WEEKEND…RECORD BREAKING HEAT IS FORECAST WHEN THE CENTER OF THE HIGH PRESSURE RIDGE MOVES OVER THE REGION. DAYTIME HIGH TEMPERATURES ON SATURDAY AND SUNDAY WILL RANGE FROM THE 80S TO LOWER 90S FOR THE COAST…TO THE MID 80S TO MID 90S FOR THE VALLEYS AND FOOTHILLS.

Going camping — on a zero budget

There’s still plenty of time to enjoy the wilderness this season, and you don’t have to pay a lot for gear
