The Sheriff Support Group of Altadena’s 18th annual Summer Concert Series at Farnsworth Park kicks off Saturday, July 5, 2014, with the Down Beat Express featuring Jennifer Gates, starting at 7 PM.
For this July 4th weekend, the band and Jennifer will perform a mix of patriotic music and standards with tributes to our favorite citiesAltadena’s own Jennifer Gates will sing the danceable hits of Frank Sinatra, Nat Cole, Ella Fitzgerald and several others. All in all, a night of dance music and “standards” from “The Great American Song Book”!Jennifer accompanied by Altadena’s own Down Beat Express a 17-piece big band performing their own arrangements of swing era standards and truly “blasts from the past” big band hits. Pat Emmett is the music director.So join us and celebrate our Nation’s Birthday and “let’s dance”!
