Vote Centers Open Saturday in Pasadena for June 2 Primary

Two locations begin in-person voting May 23, with nine more across the city opening May 30
Two Pasadena Vote Centers will open Saturday for the June 2 Statewide Direct Primary Election, the first of 122 sites that Los Angeles County is opening countywide for 11 days of in-person voting.
The centers will accept in-person ballots, voter registrations, and Vote by Mail returns daily from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. through June 1.
On Election Day, June 2, all sites will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The Pasadena ballot includes three Pasadena City Council seats, the California governor’s race, and Measure ER, the Essential Services Restoration Act — a countywide half-cent sales tax increase for five years, projected to generate an estimated $1 billion per year to offset federal cuts to Medi-Cal.
The two Pasadena sites opening Saturday are the Armenian Cilicia Evangelical Church (Derian Hall) at 339 S. Santa Anita Ave. and Morning Star Christian Church (Robinson Hall A-C) at 980 E. Rio Grande St.
Nine additional Pasadena Vote Centers are expected to open Saturday, May 30, joining hundreds of additional sites countywide for the final four days of voting.
Voters are advised to verify each location at locator.lavote.gov, the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk’s official real-time locator.
Those Pasadena locations include:
- First United Methodist Church, Great Hall, 500 E. Colorado Blvd.;
- Jefferson Branch Library, Auditorium, 1500 E. Villa St.;
- Octavia E. Butler Middle School, Gymnasium, 1505 N. Marengo Ave.;
- Pasadena City College, Creveling Lounge, 1570 E. Colorado Blvd.;
- Red Hen Press, Literary Center, 1540 Lincoln Ave.;
- Rosemont Pavilion, North Warehouse, 700 Seco St.;
- Victory Park Recreation Center, Gymnasium, 2575 Paloma St.;
- Villa Parke Community Center, Auditorium, 363 E. Villa St.; and
- Webster Elementary School, Auditorium, 2101 E. Washington Blvd.
Under the California Voter’s Choice Act, any Los Angeles County registered voter may cast a ballot at any Vote Center in the county, regardless of where they live.
A complete list and map of Vote Center locations, with real-time hours, is available at locator.lavote.gov.
“Los Angeles County administers elections for one of the most diverse populations in the nation,” Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk Dean C. Logan said in a March announcement kicking off voter outreach mailings ahead of the Vote Center openings. “These outreach mailings ensure voters receive early information about their voting options and have the opportunity to request election materials in the language that best supports their participation.”
Eligible voters who missed the May 18 deadline to register may still visit any Vote Center, complete a Conditional Voter Registration, and cast a ballot. Once the registration is validated through the statewide database, the ballot is processed like all others.
In addition to Vote Centers, eight Ballot Drop Boxes in Pasadena have been open 24 hours a day since May 4 and remain available until 8 p.m. on Election Day. Those locations include:
- Allendale Branch Library, 1130 S. Marengo Ave.;
- Grant Park, 232 S. Michigan Ave.;
- Hastings Branch Library, 3325 E. Orange Grove Blvd.;
- Jackie Robinson Community Center, 1020 N. Fair Oaks Ave.;
- Pasadena City Hall, 100 N. Garfield Ave.;
- Rose Bowl Stadium, near Lot I, at Seco Street and Arroyo Boulevard;
- Victory Park, 2575 Paloma St.; and
- Washington Park, 700 E. Washington Blvd.
Election materials are available in English and 18 additional languages. Multilingual assistance is available at (800) 815-2666, option 3, and Spanish-speaking voters may call (213) 358-2770.
Vote by Mail ballots must be postmarked on or before June 2 and received by June 9 to be counted.
The Pasadena ballot’s three City Council races are in Districts 3, 5, and 7, with incumbents Justin Jones (District 3), Jess Rivas (District 5), and Jason Lyon (District 7) currently holding the seats.
The Pasadena City Clerk’s office, headed by City Clerk Mark Jomsky, oversees the city’s municipal races and can be reached at (626) 744-4124 or cityclerk@cityofpasadena.
