The demonstration, dubbed “No Kings 3.0,” is one of more than 3,000 protests planned across the United States this weekend.
Organized locally by the ACLU and San Gabriel Foothills Indivisible (SGFI), the event aims to voice opposition to the Trump administration’s ongoing immigration enforcement operations and the U.S. military’s month-long war in Iran.
National organizers project the combined demonstrations could draw millions of participants, possibly marking the largest single day of protests in U.S. history.
The Pasadena event will begin at 11 a.m. with a gathering at the Pasadena City College Reflecting Pool. At 11:15 a.m., participants are scheduled to march west along Colorado Boulevard, led by musicians from the National Day Laborers network. The march will conclude at Pasadena City Hall, where a rally featuring local band the NextDoors, DJ Richie C, and various speakers will commence at 12:30 p.m., following music at noon.
According to the All Saints Church Pasadena event calendar, Priest-in-Charge Tim Rich is confirmed to speak. SGFI announcements indicate that other elected officials and dynamic speakers will also address the crowd, though specific names had not been released prior to the event.
Local faith communities have been actively involved in the organizing efforts.
SGFI co-leaders Maddie and Patrick R. Briggs have stressed the importance of peaceful participation. In materials published by SGFI, Patrick Briggs outlined the organization’s goals: “We took seriously the ideals of Indivisible to block the Trump 2.0 agenda, become leaders in a sustained, peaceful, non-violent protest movement and to push our elected representatives to fight back as strongly against this un-American, cruel, authoritarian regime.”
He added a message to attendees: “Be safe, joyful, kind, and creative in your resistance.”
