Public shopping event runs July 17-19, with discounted admission online and free entry for wholesale buyers, schools and military
The International Gem & Jewelry Show will be set up in Hall B of the Pasadena Convention Center for three days starting July 17, opening a marketplace of diamond, pearl, bead and jewelry-supply dealers to the public, according to the event listing.
The event, at 300 E. Green St., runs from noon to 6 p.m. on July 17, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on July 18, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on July 19, with no admittance after 4 p.m. on the final day, according to the listing. A single ticket covers all three days. Online tickets cost $6 and must be purchased by credit card in advance; tickets bought at the door cost $8, cash only. Children under 9 are not permitted.
Admission is free for three groups, according to the listing. Licensed wholesale buyers can attend at no cost if they hold a business license. Schools can attend free with a valid school email address. Active-duty military members and veterans can attend free with current military identification, an offer that extends to their immediate family members.
Both the wholesale-buyer and school admissions require pre-registration before a deadline set by the show, according to the listing, though the listing does not specify the exact registration cutoff date. Standard and discounted tickets, by contrast, require no advance registration.
Attendees can park in the underground garage at 175 S. Euclid Ave., about a 10-minute walk from the Memorial Park and Del Mar stations on the Metro Gold Line, according to the listing.
The show is organized as a marketplace in which designers, wholesalers and manufacturers sell directly to attendees, according to the listing. Exhibitors are expected to offer diamonds, beads, pearls, opals, semi-precious and precious gemstones, engagement rings, turquoise, fine jewelry, jewelry settings, men’s jewelry, watches, designer accessories, costume jewelry, vintage and estate pieces, custom jewelry, jewelry findings, chains, jewelry supplies, fashion accessories, gifts, and jewelry cleaning and repair services, the listing states.
No individual exhibitors, dealers or event organizers were named or quoted in the listing provided, and no additional source independently confirmed the event’s details as of this writing.
The show is open to the public for three days only, according to the listing.
