‘Women at the Ballot’ Forum to Help Pasadena Voters Prepare for November Election
By ANDRÈ COLEMAN, Managing Editor

Pasadena residents can learn how to register to vote, find reliable election information and understand their ballot choices during a free community forum Oct. 19, the same day as California’s online voter registration deadline for the Nov. 3 general election.
“Women at the Ballot,” a Pasadena voter education forum, will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. in the auditorium at Robinson Park Recreation Center, 1081 N. Fair Oaks Ave.
The event is a nonpartisan collaboration with the League of Women Voters of Pasadena Area, in partnership with the Pasadena Commission on the Status of Women.
Admission is free, and the forum is open to the community.
According to the event flyer, participants will learn about voter registration, finding trusted election information and understanding what is on the ballot. Attendees also will have an opportunity to get their questions answered before Election Day.
The forum’s timing places it two weeks before voting concludes, giving participants time to review election materials and consider their choices before returning a ballot or voting in person.
Residents can register online at registertovote.ca.gov. Those unsure whether they are registered can check through the secretary of state’s My Voter Status website. Checking registration before casting a ballot can help voters confirm that their information is current.
People who miss the Oct. 19 registration deadline still can use California’s same-day voter registration process at a county elections office or voting location through Election Day, according to the secretary of state.
California’s election calendar required county elections officials to begin mailing ballots by Oct. 5. Voters can return completed ballots by mail, at an official ballot drop-off location or at a county elections office.
Ballots returned by mail must be postmarked on or before Nov. 3 and received by election officials no later than Nov. 10. Voters returning ballots in person must do so by 8 p.m. on Election Day. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The secretary of state also provides an official voter information guide online at voterguide.sos.ca.gov, offering another resource for residents preparing to vote in the November election.
Community members seeking additional information about the Pasadena event can email Office@lwv-pa.org before the forum.
