County Supervisors to Take Up $1 Million Altadena Soil Remediation Program

The action would commit County money and a delivery mechanism to soil remediation work in Altadena: the Board would establish the program, cap County funding at $1 million from the Climate Equity Account — an amount that, under the agenda, includes any contingency and LACDA administrative costs to implement and administer the program — and name LACDA as the County’s agent to carry out the remediation projects.
LACDA’s executive director would deliver the projects using a Board-approved Job Order Contract, would be authorized to issue a work order authorization in excess of $330,000, and would approve and accept the completed projects on the County’s behalf.
LACDA would report to the County’s Chief Sustainability Office and Chief Executive Office every six months, summarizing the funds used and activities completed until the money is fully spent.
The Altadena program is part of a broader climate-funding item.
The Board meets at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 21, in Board Hearing Room 381B at the Kenneth Hahn Hall of Administration, 500 W. Temple St., Los Angeles. The agenda is posted at bos.lacounty.gov, and written public comment may be submitted at publiccomment.bos.lacounty.gov
