Torregrossa is a founding member of the Emerging Urban Poets in Pasadena, dedicated to the open and welcoming free public space for writers and readers of all ages. She has taught poetry workshops to children, youth, and adults, to immigrants and individuals.
The Los Angeles poetry Festival selected Mary as a 2009 Newer Poet of LA. Mary has been profiled in the Los Angeles Times and in the Pasadena Journal, and has read her poems on Pacific Radio station KPFK. Mary’s work is published in several anthologies, journals, and online.
