Pasadena Magazine always tries to make a splash with its special issues, and the March/April issue, “luxe living,” is no exception. They’re holding a celebration for the release of this issue at something they call “A Fète at the Farmer’s Market,” to be held at the Altadena Farmers Market on April 10 from 5-7 PM.
According to a release:
Guests will be treated to cooking demonstrations from the expert chefs of La Grande Orange Café, and learn how to create signature cocktails from the skillful mixologists of 1886 Bar at The Raymond. This event will also feature jam-making and coffee-roasting demos from the Domestic Institute of Technology [sic: should be Institute of Domestic Technology], live music, raffles, and more! It sounds like quite the event (and “luxe living” may not be the best move for a market that’s trying to shake off a reputation as catering to the well-off), but it does mean that market manager Joseph Shuldiner — who is also involved in the revamping of LA’s Central Market — is a force to be reckoned with.
The Altadena Farmers’ Market is held Wednesdays from 4-7 PM at Loma Alta Park.
