A steamy night at Farnsworth Park became steamier with the Latin jazz of Munyungo appearing as part of the summer concert series.  During the set we sat in, we heard Weather Report, Charile Parker, and Miles Davis classics with a Latin tinge. 

Bandleader Darryl Munyngo Jackson sets the beat.

A great part of this band was that the melody was carried — not by the usual instruments, such as a horn or electric guitar — but by an amplified violin.
