Mickey Long, LA County’s Area Administrator of the Parks and Recreation Dept., retired this week. He was superintendent of Eaton Canyon Park from 1988 to 1998, and helped the area recover from the 1993 wildfires. They named the auditorium of the Nature Center after him. Owners of a Santa Cruz pub and their landlord are asking a judge to dismiss a wrongful-death lawsuit brought by Beverly Quaye of Altadena. Quaye filed the suit in the death of her son, Benjamin Quaye, earlier this year. J. M. Brown at the Santa Cruz Sentinel has the full details.
