Altadena trailmeister Paul Ayers has helpfully sent a map of to the newsgroups of some of the historic trails on land recently acquired by the Arroyo and Foothills Conservancy around Rubio Canyon.
The Conservancy has been on a land acquisition tear lately — it also recently acquired 13 acres around Millard Canyon that connect with the trails around La Vina, which are in the process of being transferred to the Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy.
Ayers warns that some trails may be unmaintained and unmarked, and there is some unprotected exposure to heights of 100 ft., so don’t do more than you can and keep the helicopters away.
