Annie Sprinkle and Beth Stephen’s “eco-sexual purple wedding to the moon” went off with nary a hitch Saturday night at Farnsworth Park Amphitheater. True, one of the three brides didn’t show (the Moon, which was under the horizon the whole time), but it was an interesting mix of neo-paganism, performance, satire, music, burlesque, and probably half a dozen other things. Park staff estimated the crowd at around 300, and one sheriff’s deputy reported the crowd as “mellow.” More, including video, after the jump.
Rev. Billy of the Church of Life After Shopping (performance artist Billy Talen) presided over events.
Veronica Hart, former adult film actress-turned-director, recites a memorable version of the children’s classic, Good Night Moon.
All the acts and events went off well, altho’ there was the occasional inflatable cone malfunction (or perhaps we should say dysfunction?)

While it was advertised as “family friendly,” Rev. Billy said that, “In our family, we have burlesque,” and so they did. (We’re not printing any of those pictures, but we ARE keeping them in our private collection). Some of the acts WERE very talented and family friendly, and one of them was the Moon Dance in the video below.
