Consultants to Los Angeles county planners will hold a series of community meetings this spring to get the public’s take on a new community standards plan for Altadena.
RBF Consulting, the county’s outside consultant, is also planning to meet with groups such as the chamber of commerce and the town council, according to Sussy Nemer, field deputy for Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich. Nemer said that the county recently had its first scoping meeting with RBF, which is charged with gathering input from these groups and others, such as Altadena Heritage and the Altadena Historical Society, as Altadena updates its community standards district.
“Their charge is to gather input, so it’s just a visioning session where all the input is collected and summarized in one document,’ Nemer said.
RBF will also have meetings where “the whole community is invited,” to express their opinions on the community standards district, which covers a wide range of structural requirements and property uses in Altadena. There will also be a website established to gather more public input, Nemer said.
The public meetings haven’t yet been scheduled, but Nemer said that RBF planned to finish its document by June before vacation season set in.
