Learn about the technical workings of the Mount Lowe Railway on a hike along the former route of the rail with the Arroyos & Foothills Conservancy and engineer John Harrigan, author of the book Mt. Lowe Power, at 9 AM on Saturday, March 31. The railway was a feat of engineering in the late 19th century, with a funicular system built by the man who designed San Francisco’s cable cars.

Meet at the intersection of Pleasantridge Drive and Rubio Vista Drive in Altadena. The hike is about a mile each way, and is demanding at points. Dogs are not allowed.
