Altadena Stables is looking for high school students and young adults to assist as volunteer counselors for its Summer Horse Camp.

 

Having an experience with handling horses is preferred, but is not required as long as an individual has the desire and willingness to learn.  Training sessions will be offered and will focus on safety,

Carren Jao has an interesting profile of Alta-artist James Griffith in the KCET blog. The painter (and co-proprietor, with Suzanne Dadd, of the Folly Bowl) has been working in an unusual medium: tar from the La Brea Tar Pits.   Griffith paints with the tour to produce paintings that reflect the concerns of today using this most ancient of materials.
