The LA Times is on the case about George Garner, a noted black singer and theater actor in the 1930’s from the Pasadena/Altadena area.  He accomplished many important things, but what happened to him is unknown — and the Times is looking for someone who knows.  There is an Altadena chapter of the National Association of Negro Musicians named after him.
