Active Shooter Training Planned at Eliot Arts Magnet Academy in Early June

user38648-1432068927-media1

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Altadena Station announced today plans for an “active shooter” training session on June 9 at the Eliot Arts Magnet Academy at 2184 North Lake Avenue, Altadena.

In particular, residents of Calaveras Street, Maiden Lane, and Boston Street near the school were advised the exercise may have an impact on their neighborhoods from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. that day.

The training will include the Los Angeles County Fire Department, specialized units from the Sheriff’s Department along with a helicopter.

Calaveras Street access will be restricted to residents only, with identification required to gain access between Lake Avenue and Maiden Lane.  Residents of Calaveras are asked to park vehicles in driveways and not on the street, due to numerous emergency vehicles which require street parking.

Residents will be able to access their homes during all hours of this training, but expect delays.

If you have any questions, please call Sergeant Waterman at the Altadena Sheriff’s Station, (626) 798-1131.
