PUSD Offers Enrollment Assistance Ahead of Nov. 10 Priority Deadline

Virtual workshop Wednesday and in-person sessions Friday will assist families with 2027–28 applications

Pasadena Unified School District families seeking sibling or continuing-program priority for the 2027–28 school year have one week left to apply, with the district offering online and in-person help before the Nov. 10 deadline.

PUSD’s Office of Enrollment will hold a virtual application-support workshop Wednesday, Nov. 4, from 6 to 7 p.m. Pasadena Education Network’s calendar independently lists the session and the same virtual enrollment link.

The district also plans two “Coffee with the Enrollment Team” assistance periods Friday, Nov. 6, from 10 a.m. to noon and from 2 to 5 p.m. at the PUSD Education Center, 351 S. Hudson Ave., according to PUSD’s Nov. 2 community update. The district said staff will help families complete and submit applications and will offer one-on-one assistance during the in-person sessions.

Sibling Priority is available to siblings of enrolled PUSD students who live at the same address and will attend the same school at the same time. Continuing Program Priority is for current PUSD students moving into sixth or ninth grade who want to continue in the same program at their next school. PUSD lists International Baccalaureate, magnet, dual language and Math Academy programs among the eligible pathways.

The priority application period opened Oct. 20 at 9 a.m. and closes Tuesday, Nov. 10, at 4 p.m. PUSD says results will be available online by 11:59 p.m. Dec. 3, and families receiving offers must accept them by Dec. 11.

Families who miss the priority period can apply during the district’s first general Open Enrollment lottery, scheduled for Jan. 14 through Jan. 28, 2027. PUSD says that lottery also serves other eligible applicants, including district residents seeking a school other than their neighborhood campus, transitional kindergarten applicants and former district residents displaced by the Eaton Fire.

Applications are submitted through SchoolMint. PUSD’s enrollment guidance says each student needs a separate application, and when applications exceed available seats, placements are made through a random lottery.
