Folly Bowl Update: Rain Causes Switch from Altadena to Eagle Rock for Season Opener

gallery_paul_20__20pete

“Although we loved getting the 1.9 inches of rain and hail last night, alas the Folly Bowl will be too wet and cold to host the concert tomorrow evening,” said Folly Bowl owner Susanna Dadd  on Friday, continuing to say “Happily, a new indoor venue has been found, and I hope you will be able to make it and enjoy the concert in comfort. The concert will be held at … 4901 Onteora Way, Eagle Rock 90041.”

Dadd said the concert was also rescheduled for June 20. too, so there will be another opportunity to hear this wonderful music in the Folly Bowl at a warmer time of year.

Stars of the performance will be the sitar and the cello making beautiful music as Peter Jacobson and Paul Livingstone, performing as Sangam, open the summer concert season at 7:30 p.m.

Over the past decade, the duo has blended the sounds of their instruments to create a fusion of Indian ragas, jazz counterpoint and rhythmic sounds that they call “ragajazz chamber music.”

Jacobson and Livingstone have performed with the Arohi Ensemble, and have been featured on Grammy-winning albums with Ozomatli, Quetzal & Rickey Kej.

There is a suggested donation of $20 at the door. For more, see https://www.facebook.com/TheFollyBowl?fref=nf
