Art on Palm Returns for 11th Year Today

artpalm740

The Spring 2015 Art on Palm art show will be held today from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  Head over to bucolic Wildwood Park for another magical event.

Art on Palm, a biannual art event, began in 2004 with 7 classmates, in the charming backyard garden of co-presenter Mary Jane Elgin. Conceived by and for artists, Art on Palm now accommodates more than 40 artists with musicians and refreshments in an equally lovely, but considerably larger canyon garden, Wildwood Park. This setting, with its canopy of ancient oaks, pathways winding around homes renovated and designed by Henry Greene, harken back to Southern California of the 1920’s. Though Art on Palm has grown and moved, it has retained a commitment to present work that is refined, diverse and locally handcrafted.

Art on Palm artists share the wealth by donating a portion of their sales to the Creative Arts Group in neighboring Sierra Madre. Creative Arts Group (CAG) was founded in 1960 by six couples to provide quality art experiences and instruction to augment the dwindling arts programs in public schools. Learn more about their ongoing mission by visiting www.creativeartsgroup.org.

While visiting Art on Palm you will find a nice selection of beverages and light lunch options being served by the volunteers and staff of Creative Arts Group.  All refreshment proceeds benefit Creative Arts Group programs.

Wildwood Park is located at 1421 E. Palm, Altadena. For more information call (626) 827-7870 or visit www.artonpalm.com.
