Art on Palm at Loma Alta Park Returns to Altadena for Two Days

Art on Palm, a free and acclaimed art exhibit and sale of fine craft and artwork by local and regional artisans, returns to Altadena for its first 2-day event, at Loma Alta Park, 579 W. Palm Street on June 8 and 9.

The juried show and sale features work in ceramics, collage, glass, leather, metals, mixed media, photography, textiles, and turned woods. The 30 sought-after artisans includes: Annie Aldrich, Vie Blakey, Marcia Bloom, Cullanete Bloom, Mary Campagna, Ellen Dinerman, Rebecca Frederick, Joanne Hunot, Polly Kanazaki, Bettina Kleemann, Barbara Lamb, Kate Lain, Leaf Motif, Herban, Ron Lawrenz, Susan Loraine, Kelly McKnight, Randy Meaney, Heather Morrow, Cathy Reichel Clark, Ramona Paloma Tile Studios, Rone Prinz, Kathy W. Spear, Kathleen Swaydan, Kara Taub, and Wickd Bean Soy Candles, Lys Wilcox, and Anthe Wosczyna.

Art on Palm is set in Loma Alta’s grass-carpeted ‘Outdoor Pavilion,’ just below the equestrian center and surrounded by mature trees and picnic tables. Loma Alta is a 7-acre park with facilities that include: an aquatic center, basketball and tennis courts, hiking trails, a gymnasium, numerous sports fields, and year-round community activities.

Art on Palm @ Loma Alta Park raises funds and awareness for the Creative Arts Group of Sierra Madre. Each artist contributes 10% of their sales and to date they have raised over $40k for the non-profit. Founded in 1960 Creative Arts Group, CAG provides quality art instruction for elementary school students in Sierra Madre’s public school through ImaginArt, as well as art classes for students of all ages, community programs and exhibitions. At the event, Creative Arts will invite attendees to participate in decorating a slip-covered ceramic totem that will be fired and displayed post event.

Begun in 2004, Art on Palm is a twice a year, family-inviting, boutique art event that presents local and exceptional artisans.
