Altadena Public Library Presents ‘Steeped in Culture’ with Speaker Linda Louie

Saturday, March 12th at 2 p.m. in the Barbara J. Pearson Community Room of the Main library, the Altadena Library District will present ‘Tea @ Two’, a ‘Steeped in Culture’ presentation by Linda Louie.

The Altadena Library’s ‘Tea @ Two’ program is a free community program open to the public.

Join Linda Louie, owner of Bana Tea Company for soul warming samples of pu-erh and black teas as well as tales of her travels purchasing for her passion. Learn what constitutes the perfect cup. From its origins in the forests of Yunnan to its role in scientific studies on longevity, tea has served many functions for thousands of years. Find out how tea and tea culture evolved through the passing of dynasties and how the same tea plant can produce thousands of variations of tea. Explore and expand your sensory experience tasting a black, oolong and pu-erh tea.

Linda Louie was born and raised in Hong Kong. She has a Master’s degree in Social Work and worked for the Los Angeles Superior Court for many years before pursuing her life-long passion for tea. Linda is the owner of Bana Tea Company, an on-line tea company specializing in fine Pu-erh tea. Linda has studied with a renowned tea master in Hong Kong and traveled extensively through the farms and villages of the Pu-erh tea regions of Yunnan China in her quest to find the finest teas. She has given tea lectures, demonstrations and focused tea tastings at museums, community colleges, public libraries, art galleries and private events.
