Altadena Library District Presents Teen Filmmaking 101 Workshop
Altadena Library is proud to announce its first-ever Teen Filmmakers series starting this fall. Future YouTubers, filmmakers and directors are invited to learn how to use film equipment to create their own films. Learn the basics of using professional film cameras, and learn concepts like storyboarding, lighting, and editing at the free monthly workshops. Participants are invited to work on their own unique projects as well as participate in a collaborative short documentary about Altadena Library.
At this time, registration is not required. Please note that participation in this workshop is limited to people between the ages 11-19. The workshop will be held at the Main Library in the Community Room from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Friday, November 13th.
This workshop series will be taught by Kent Yoshimura, filmmaker and director, whose career started at the Directing and Producing program at UCLA. His experience includes directing documentaries, commercials, and PSAs (including an anti-smoking PSA that is currently shown on the LA Metro system).
This workshop is possible because Altadena Library District was awarded $30,000 from the Pitch an Idea grant, which is awarded annually and supported in whole or in part by a California State Library grant supported by the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services Technology Act, administered in California by the State Librarian.
For more information about participation please contact Teen Librarian Carrie Wilson at (626) 798-0833 ext. 108 or email@example.com.
The Altadena Library is located at 600 East Mariposa Street, Altadena.
