Altadena Historical Society Seeks Board Members

The Altadena Historical Society is seeking candidates to serve on its Board of Directors.

Directors of the 82-year-old non-profit organization–one of Altadena’s oldest and largest–help to guide it as it works to preserve and share the community’s colorful history.

The AHS board meets on a monthly basis, at 7 p.m. on the second Wednesday, and directors often serve on committees and assist on AHS projects and programs. The board currently numbers nine men and women. We are seeking an additional three or four members.

Enthusiasm for promoting and preserving Altadena’s fascinating history is the major requirement for the post. We hope to hear from people who care about Altadena and can offer the board and community their professional or avocational talents.

Experience with fundraising, involvement with government and community organizations or businesses, and basic knowledge of local history are also desirable. Candidates may be current or former Altadena residents, or work in Altadena.

The Historical Society’s office, archives and museum are in the Altadena Community Center, 730 E. Altadena Drive, 91001, open from 9-11 a.m. Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays.

Candidates may contact AHS by mail, or email altadenahistorical.society@yahoo.com, with a letter of interest, experience and talents that would benefit the board, the organization, and the community.
