LA Times reports that 26,000 are still without power — which includes us (writing from our temporary headquarters). Everyone’s supposed to be up by 8 PM tonight, but we’ll see …

Crime Never Sleeps: A couple we know writes:
I don’t have Tim’s e-mail, but wanted to let him (and you) know for the blog that we were burglarized [Dec. 1] while out searching for batteries, etc. Losses in the thousands. Entered through back kitchen window with rock smash, grabbed the standard – jewelry, computers, cameras, money. No witnesses. Stole three guitars, too, couldn’t have gone very far on foot. Filled sheriff’s report, waiting for fingerprinting tomorrow morning.

UPDATE 11:15 AM
Altadena town councilman Greg Middleton reports that Edison is at the Altadena Community Center, 730 E. Altadena Dr., from now until 4 PM to distribute ice, water and flashlights — not a good sign for those of us in the dark zone, but a nice offer!

UPDATE 7:30 PM
119 hours after going dark, we came home from dinner to find our lights on. YAYY! The bathroom is rather warm, as my wife’s hairdryer was going from the time the lights went on to when we got home — but it’s a good feeling not camping in your own home. We have a lot of stuff to clear up in the house tonight, so expect massive catching up starting tomorrow.
