Altadena novelist and food writer Michelle Hunevan has an exerpt from her new novel in LA Weekly.  The story takes place in the  jail of the Altadena Sheriff's Station (of course, the jail hasn't actually been used in years, and there's no basement at the Sheriff's Station, but that's why it's fiction, ain't it?)
