Good morning!

Yes, the weather service promised violent winds last night … but at least around our neighborhood, it was unnaturally still.

Still, the weather service has the San Gabriel Valley on a wind advisory, which remains in effect until 6 PM tonight.  In their message time-stamped 2:32 this morning:

* winds and timing… areas of northeast winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 40 mph will continue through the afternoon. The strongest winds will be eastern portions and foothills.

* Impacts… strong winds could make driving difficult… especially for high profile vehicles. Major roadways impacted by gusty winds include highways 57 and 60 as well as Interstate 210.

Precautionary/preparedness actions… 

A Wind Advisory means that winds of 35 mph or greater are expected. Winds this strong can make driving difficult…  especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution.

So we're not out of the woods yet.  But with 82 degrees predicted high and dry weather, the red flag warning is still in effect.
