UPDATED: night rescue at Eaton Canyon – one injured, one safe

Currently (6:45 PM) Altadena Mountain Rescue Team is trying to evacuate an injured hiker from Eaton Canyon. Based on scanner chatter, the victim will have to be airlifted to the hospital, and crews are trying to move the victim in place for a helicopter extraction.
UPDATE 8 PM: Altadena Station is waiting for the report from AMRT, but says there were two female hikers involved, both safely rescued, details to come.
UPDATE 11/27: The Altadena Sheriff’s Station has sent out the following release:
On November 26, 2012, at approximately 1745 hours, personnel assigned to the Altadena Search and Rescue Team were deployed to Eaton Canyon Falls to search for two female hikers who sustained injuries. The first hiker, who fell approximately 30 feet, sustained what appeared to be two broken femurs, as well as significant head injuries. She was rescued from the canyon by members of the Altadena Search and Rescue team and airlifted to Huntington Memorial Hospital via Los Angeles County Fire Department helicopter. The second hiker, who sustained only minor injuries during the hike, was treated at the scene by Los Angeles County Fire Department paramedics. She was released at the scene.
