The physics of St. Nick

SANTA  Doesn’t Need a CHIMNEY

Now every year about this time,
some children’s minds do race!
And back and forth their thoughts will go —
they have NO fireplace!

For in that story–true as gold,
a fireplace is found.
YES —  down that chimney Santa came,
and he “came with a bound.”

Now worried children round the world,
they start to grow a fear.
If home —  it has no chimney,
will Santa Claus come here?

So — let me be the first to say,
Brilliantly formed question.
YOU show a true and probing mind,
a quality impression.

NO! —Santa needs no chimney there,
nor even needs a home.
Apartments, condos, campers too.
all suit his landing zone.

For Santa, he can change his form
from wave to particle.
For any size space —- he will fit!
Nothing’s impossible!

No chimney? Well it matters not,
and neither does a tree.
For Santa’s gift’s will follow you,
He’ll find where you will be!

The secret’s found within each child,
for in each burns a light
of faith and hope and charity,
which makes a beacon bright!

For from his sleigh,he spies those lights,
while Time and Matter shift!
To each and every child he gives
a very true best gift.

That  burning light within each child,
is all that Santa  needs .
He’ll find you in rain, sleet or hail,
for it’s your light he heeds!

For all you thinking, doubting types,
a – waiting on the proof,
it’s there —- right there — before your eyes,
and found in Newton’s root!

The FORCE of wishes pushes on
that MASS of children’s dreams.
ACCELERATION speeds right up
and Christmas Day—it streams!

For Newton’s Law, that second one
is science, so exact.
For Santa uses this law too,
as all Earth does, in fact!

So children of the world unite,
in SANTA’S science lesson.
Your brain will thank you, oh so much:
Nation will be blessed then!

For chimneys do not matter – NO!
So shine your light out bright!
Just beam out strong and Life will give
the gift to match your  light!
