Next week’s Sheriff Support Group Summer Concert at Farnsworth Park will be the return of the Down Beat Express big band, featuring trumpeter Paul Cacia and vocalist Jennifer Gates.
Cacia is a true “trumpet artist,” playing jazz-pop selections from his nine albums recorded over thirty years as a top soloist.
Recording artist Jennifer Gates sings songs from the Great American Song Book that makes her a perennial Pasadena night club favorite.
Both will be accompied by Altadena’s own Down Beat Express, a 17-piece big band performing their own arrangements of swing era standards and true “blasts from the past” big band hits. Pat Emmett is the music director.
