What a shame and I’m not surprised. From what I have read on their website and seen in person, the commission will approve anything unless the the project is in gross violation of the law, such as operating without a permit (Sahab Mesrob) or operating a a motel full of child molestors or drug dealers near a school. From what I have seen, the Altadena General Plan is just a wishful thinking guideline that is not followed and these planning commission approvals seem to be backroom, done deals and the hearing process just a formality. So sad for that beautiful church.
