The Altadena Chamber of Commerce has declared this "Shop Altadena First" week, and announced a couple of chamber events:
Thursday May 14 8-11 am – Complimentary Diabetes Screening at Webster's Pharmacy 2450 N. Lake Avenue.
Friday May 15th 5:30 – 7:00 PM. Altadena Chamber of Commerce Mixer. Steve's Pets 2395 N. Lake Avenue (part of the North Lake Business District Open House festivities)

Would be nice to see some events in West Altadena–especially with our new wonderful market and other business at Lincoln crossing–is it that these business owners are not part of the chamber?

Can’t answer for west Altadena, but the Lake Ave. open house is not a Chamber event. The Chamber mixer is going on at the same time, but the Chamber isn’t really a party to the open house. It was launched by the local galleries and got support from the local businesses, and some of them are Chamber and some of them aren’t. The Chamber isn’t really a player in this gathering, it was spontaneously generated by the businesses in the Lake Ave. district. There’s no reason why the Lincoln Crossing and west Altadena businesses couldn’t do the same! (And no reason why they can’t join the chamber, either!)
