About 10:15 tonight — many sheriff’s cars, and the copper chopper was orbiting around the neighborhood with spotlight on — neighbor says it was a man with a gun at a halfway house, but details are a bit sketchy at the moment.

regarding another full out show of force with the sheriff’s helicopter at a halfway house…we just had one of these incidents on Tuesday morning I believe on New York Drive just west of MarVista…7 patrol cars and helicopter in the middle of the day. I drove by and a lot of guys were in the driveway with numerous deputies talking…I called the watch commander, a Lieutenant, who said it was originally called in as a robbery, and it turned out to be some type of ‘business’ dispute…at a group home…
just how many of these 1/2 houses and group homes ARE there in our community and where and who are they?
I wonder if this blog could address this situation and where is the overall map and list of these homes?
They must be registered with the County, no?
