… per the scanner, Altadena Mountain Rescue, along with team members from Sierra Madre, are getting ready to extract some hikers.  Unconfirmed reports from the scanner say two hikers are not ambulatory, and five others are involved.  Chopper is aloft, and they're going to enter by the Pinecrest gate, so we hope someone brought keys …

6:20 PM: Per scanner, they seem to have made contact — at least one will be ambulanced out, the rest are getting out on foot.

7:10 PM: and the score is: one patient choppered out to Huntington, the remaining hikers and rescuers made it to the Pinecrest gate and were awaiting a ride home.  Thanks to all Altadena scannerheads in the comments!

UPDATE: PSN is already reporting that James Si, 19, of El Monte, fell down from the top of the first waterfall and is being treated as a trauma patient.
