From PUSD:

Pasadena Unified School District (PUSD) students, teachers, families, and families have united in support of the victims of last week's earthquake in Haiti.  Like the rest of the country, students have responded to images and news of the island nation's tragedy, and raised funds to help recovery efforts.

The Pasadena area's spirit of philanthropy is reflected in the efforts of our school children to help in any way they can, said Superintendent Edwin Diaz. "Many of our campus Haitian relief efforts were started by the remarkable, diverse and generous children who attend our schools. At moments like this, it is clear that PUSD is a truly extraordinary community of children, teachers, employees, administrators and families."

Among the school activities on the list provided by PUSD:

  * Eliot Middle School students will discuss relief aid to Haiti during their advisory period on January 25.  Student leaders are asking each student to donate $1 to $2 per student or family.

  * Marshall Fundamental Secondary School students are collecting coins for donation to Haiti relief.

  * Jackson Elementary School is organizing a collection to benefit Haiti.
