UPDATE 4 PM: Got this note from Carolyn Seitz of the Sheriff’s Community Advisory Council:

From the Sheriff’s Station, its volunteers, and a grateful community, thank you to everyone who braved the elements to meet their neighbors, share the spirit of the season, and who donated food and toys that will help us serve those in need.

For anyone who would still like to contribute, unwrapped toys and food (canned goods and staples), you can drop off additional donations anytime between now and Wednesday.

The Station elves are now busy at work sorting donated foods into boxes for families and sorting toys to help make sure we give age appropriate toys to children who might otherwise not have such a merry Christmas this year.

Thank you in particular to Lisa Gibson in the President Streets area who asked her neighborhood to work together to donate and the President Streets neighbors gave generously, and to the kids of La Vina, who have made a project of organizing their part of the community for giving every Christmas, led by Sondra DeJardin.

Both neighborhoods made an outstanding and much appreciated contribution today.

As always, stay safe!

Carolyn
