FREEDOM —of religion– yes!
Of speech —-and of the press.
plus petition and assembly–
with these a people blessed.
The right to bear arms, number 2,
well regulated rule.
Militia for security,
the framers added too.
And number 3, they needed that,
this housing soldiers–NO!
The British ate all food and grog,
each colonist’s sad woe!
This search and seizure–number 4.
sadly, this was abused.
Probable cause? A warrant needs,
or people feel ill used.
And number 5, a great big thought,
we know as DUE PROCESS.
These rights are guaranteed to us,
not Star Chamber success!
And what are rights without fair trial,
with speed, and fairness too.
To know the accusation, yes—
which kings will never do.
Number 7—-it rings out loud
in trial by jury–TRUE!
For human rights die in the dark,
a thing that tyrants do.
No cruel or unusual
were punishments allowed.
For tyrants made a sport of this,
and humans disavowed!
Of such importance, number 9,
People retained those rights.
The Constitution can’t list all,
in this nation delights!
And number 10 of that first list,
for rights federal or state,
the people owned respectively
on celebration date.

Perhaps today you’ll google this
and reread all of it!
For after all on holiday,
the stomach will be fed.
So fill up on that mind food too,
