The month of October is nationally recognized as Adopt-a-Shelter-Dog month. This month, consider adopting an abandoned, homeless dog from one of your local County of Los Angeles Department of Animal Care and Control’s (DACC) animal care centers.
“Shelter dogs make great pets. Most of them know what is like to be a part of a family, have basic training, and are oftentimes already housebroken,” said DACC Director, Marcia Mayeda. “When you adopt a dog from an animal shelter, you are not only saving a life—you are also receiving a wonderful companion,” Mayeda said.
Visit one of DACC’s six animal care centers if you are considering opening your heart and home to a shelter dog this month:

Mayeda is full of horse s**t. The dogs that come out of her shelters hardly know any commands, they are not potty trained and they are filthy! And by no fault of their own. She doesn’t even have her staff members bathe the dogs, or trim their nails. They are NOT given any basic training. It is only when the RESCUE groups come in, thanks to pledge money from facebook donors, and save these dogs that they are they properly taken care of. Mayeda is a liar and she needs to go. Until she is gone, thousands more will die.
