Special needs kids safe swim: The City of Pasadena is offering a supervised swim hour for children ages 5 to 12 with special needs Mondays through Thursdays this summer from 11 a.m. to noon at Robinson Park, 1081 N. Fair Oaks Ave., from July 5 to Aug. 12. A parent or authorized guardian must be available to assist each child. Pre-registration and waivers are required. For costs, scholarships and more information call Darrell Walker at (626) 744-7530; to pre-register, call Jackie Scott at (626 ) 744-7257.
Andre Coleman, the Pasadena Weekly’s deputy editor and frequent writer of things Altadena over there, is going into the John Muir High School Hall of Fame for his writing. Congratulations!
But do they have lox?: Now we’ve heard everything: The Pasadena Jewish Temple & Center (1434 North Altadena Drive) will host the Takosher food truck today from 4-8 PM today. Yes, they sell kosher tacos. Oy!
Like Altadenans, residents and government officials in La Canada Flintridge also aren’t too crazy about being in a state assembly district that stretches all the way to Rancho Cucamonga, reports the La Canada Valley Sun.
