Jeffrey Mensendiek will preach at Altadena Community Church Sunday, Jan. 13, and continue the conversation in an adult class and at a potluck lunch. Mensendiek directs youth ministries at the Emmaus Center in Sendai, Japan, in the region hit by the 2011 earthquake, tsunami, and Fukushima nuclear disaster.

The son of missionaries, he also grew up in this part of Japan. ACC supports Mensendiek’s work through Global Ministries, an ecumenical Christian group focused on justice, peace, and poverty issues (www.globalministries.org).
