Paul F. Little, aka "Max Hardcore," one of Altadena's less-premiere citizens, has been sentenced to 46 months in prison for violation of various obscenity laws. PSN has it all — well, it doesn't have it ALL — let's just say it has enough!
P.S. The Contra Costa Times is still stalking Altadena, and files its own story.
UPDATE 10/4: PSN has fleshed out (heh) its story considerably today.

I understand that not everyone may approve of Mr.Little’s profession or type of films he makes. However, assigning him “less premiere” citizen satus is certainly very high and mighty of you.
Just b/c of what someone does for a living and you judge them. Sad.
On another note, I hope Steve Lamb isn’t speaking on behalf of all Altadena in his quote to PSN (why would PSN even call Mr.Lamb for a quote – I don’t think he’s on the Chamber/Town Council etc.). Obviously someone at PSN thinks Lamb is Mr. Altadena and speaks for the entire community. Again, sad.

Well, we’ve never seen one of Mr. Little’s films, but we’ve done enough research to know we can’t even describe what goes on in them, except in general terms like “extremely degrading to women” and “unsanitary.” Plus, he was convicted of felonies in federal court and sentenced to almost four years in prison. We don’t think his bodes well for making him Altadena Chamber Citizen of the Year. You don’t have to be high and mighty to disapprove of this kind of thing. We’re sorry this makes you sad.
Yes, we do judge people by what they do. Everybody does. How else do you judge somebody? Doctors, teachers, good; drug dealers, pornographers bad. Lawyers, not so sure. Generally, any profession that involves smacking young women around is probably not something you’d recommend on Career Day.
We do join you in your puzzlement that PSN has deemed Mr. Lamb — who, as far as we know, holds no official position at the present time and has no relationship with Mr. Little — as the voice of Altadena on this matter. Over 40,000 people in town, and he was the only one home for a quote? Nobody from the town council, law enforcement, the chamber of commerce, the neighbors? We’re not the only ones confused by their choice.

Assuming that their fun ‘n games were consensual – that the women being smacked around were not participating against their will – then I don’t have an issue with it. Battery, rape, assult and kidnapping are already against the law. Consensual sexual practices that make people like you feel all icky should not be illegal. Sending dirty movies via US Mail or over the internet to willing recipients should not be illegal.
